Kat Dennings, born Katherine Victoria Litwack on June 13, 1986, in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania was the first child of Ellen and Gerald Dennings. Ellen was Ellen's mother. She was both an ophthalmologist and a poet. Gerald, her father was a professor and molecular pharmacist. Dennings was raised in the home of a Jewish family as the youngest child. Dennings did not attend a conventional school for long as she was a homeschooler. Since she started acting early and was a natural homeschooler, it worked well for her. In the year 14 she finished the high school. In fact, at nine she was already acting commercials. To pursue an acting career, Kat Dennings relocating with family from the city of her birth to Los Angeles when she finished high-school. Kat Dennings began her auditions under this name. Kat Dennings made her acting debut following having moved to LA when she appeared in HBO's "Sex and the City" in 2000. Then, she starred in WB's sitcom "Sex and the City".
